10 Residents of Untung Jawa Island Take English Language Course

The Seribu Islands Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Sub-agency (Nakertransgi) held the second batch of English vocational courses at SDN 01 Pulau Untung Jawa, Untung Jawa Island Sub-district, North Seribu Islands. There were ten participants.
At least residents can become tour guides
Seribu Islands Nakertransgi Sub-agency Head, Zahrul Wildan said this vocational course is a proposal from the community through the Musrenbang 2024.
"This course aims to increase competency in the form of skills, knowledge, and attitudes for participants. Thus, creating superior human resources capable of competing in the global era," he expressed, Monday (6/10).
Thousand Islands People Get Electrical Engineering TrainingHe explained the Seribu Islands is a tourist destination area that is visited by many foreign tourists. "Through this English course, at least residents can become tour guides," he explained.
According to him, this course will start from July 10 to 11, 2024. Participants received material for 20 days and two additional days for competency testing, starting from grammar, English conversation, and others.
"Participants who pass the competency test will receive a training certificate and competency certificate from the National Professional Certification Agency. This is very useful for them looking for work," he explained.
Besides English language courses, his party would also re-open vocational training for Computer Operators. Hopefully, it could increase skills, knowledge, business independence, and welfare for residents in Seribu Islands.
"Hopefully, they can make the best use of this course. Besides filling their free time, they also gain insights that can improve the standard of living of Island residents," he hoped.
One of the participants from RT 02/02, Rifki Iriansyah (19) admitted he was happy to participate in the English language course free of charge.
"This can increase skills and provide business opportunities and formal work," he stated.
